Over 88 million self-portraits featuring citizens proudly displaying the national flag have been shared on the central government's Har Ghar Tiranga website by Tuesday noon. This surge in uploads transpired within the framework of a three-day initiative ignited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent impassioned appeal, articulated on Sunday.

The homepage of the Har Ghar Tiranga website provides an avenue for uploading selfies embellished with the tricolour, and it distinctly states that an impressive tally of 8,81,21,591 (equivalent to 88 million) selfies adorned with the emblematic flag have been contributed as of 12 noon on Tuesday. The website beckons the populace to adorn their homes with the flag from August 13 to 15, encompassing the three-day 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign commemorating the 77th Independence Day.

Within the portal's interface, two avenues exist for submitting selfies: one with the flag and the other adorned with a digital representation of the Tiranga. Further scrolling reveals images featuring Union ministers, actors, and sports figures, all united by the Indian flag. Notable personalities such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former cricketer Parthiv Patel, veteran actor Anupam Kher, and celebrated singer Kailash Kher, among others, partook in this collective display of patriotism.

Against the backdrop of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,' a celebratory commemoration marking India's 75 years of independence, PM Modi inaugurated the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign on July 22 of the previous year. Continuing to stoke the fervour, the Prime Minister took to social media on Sunday, urging individuals to substitute their profile pictures with the Tricolour insignia in alignment with the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement.

In a bid to amplify this campaign, PM Modi himself altered the display pictures across his own social media accounts to feature the national flag. As a part of a larger agenda encompassing the week, members of the Union Cabinet partook in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' motorcycle rally within the precincts of the Pragati Maidan area in Delhi on Friday. This rally marked the second iteration of the campaign and was flagged off by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, coursing through thoroughfares like Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, and India Gate, ultimately culminating at the Pragati Maidan tunnel.

In a previously shared video disseminated by ANI, Kishan Reddy was observed at the motorcycle's helm, steering the campaign while Anurag Thakur occupied the pillion seat, grasping the Indian flag with a firm grip. The spirited chorus of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' resounded throughout the rally. Additionally, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, a representative of Karnataka, took part in the bike rally, further underscoring the campaign's reach.

Concomitantly, Independence Day was observed across the nation with the Prime Minister presiding over the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag at the Red Fort on Tuesday morning, an event attended by a confluence of dignitaries, ministers, schoolchildren, and other prominent figures.
